Starting the New Year in Fernie

We spent this weekend in Fernie--our usual favourite spot to ski/snowboard in the winter.

We have always been lucky with lots of snow and great ski days with friends in Fernie, and this time was no exception.

It has definitely been chilly in Calgary lately, and Fernie shared this cold weather, with temperatures in the -15 to -25c range for most of the weekend. Despite being covered head to toe, it did make for shorter days on the hill (for me at least!) to allow time to defrost our fingers and toes at the end of the day!

We rented a chalet on the hill: ski-in/ski-out with a hot tub, and it turned out that the owner was a colleague of Dave's from the Health Region, so we were certain to behave ourselves!

Another wonderful weekend, and a great way to start off the ski season!

COLD friends at the top of the White chair...

Really pretty views, but too cold to really enjoy them (our camera battery froze at this point...)

It may have been too cold for you to really enjoy the views, but the pictures show how great the views are!
