Congratulations Lindsey and Rick!

Congratulations to Lindsey and Rick, who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on July 14th: Wyatt Robert Willmott Haywood. We are so thrilled for you and your new family!

Updates and summer plans...

It seems like the summer is flying by already: lots of fun weekends, and busy weeks this month, with more to come in August.

I (Beth) am still working over the summer, although with a slightly (okay, extremely!) relaxed schedule...I love the girls I work with, and have the freedom to pretty much come and go as I please during summer hours, so the hours spent writing reports are not so bad.

I've also started a new job in "Outreach", where I have a few clients in community preschools that I will be visiting to provide OT services. I've already started a few visits, but things will pick up more in the fall. So far it's a nice way to break up the day/week without being too rushed.

Dave has been busy on his bike, training for his upcoming race (http://www.transrockies.com/ ). He has made some good friends in his biking partner Joe, and his "coach" Steve, and spends a lot of time doing rides in the mountains, on the road, and in the garage tuning up his bike: always great to have motivation!

Over the next few weeks, I will be finishing up work, then off to Los Angeles to visit my good friend Claire. We are driving her car back to Calgary, and should see some interesting sights/sites along the way!

We plan to meet up with Dave in Invermere in time to see him off on Aug 10th, then I'm back at work for a few days before heading up to Fernie to cheer him again at the finish line on Aug 16th.

We fly out to Halifax Aug 18th to sightsee for a few days before our friends Sean and Lauren tie the knot in Wolfville.

Then we've booked one last trip to Ontario for Labour Day weekend to see Karen and Blair in Muskoka, and hopefully squeeze in a visit or two with the family.

It promises to be a busy few weeks, but then again, we thrive on being busy! It will be great to get back to work in September after having had so many adventures this summer!

Mom and Dad Brewin are scheduled to come for a visit in late September, so we are really looking forward to having them out here. And Mom and Dad Jackson are looking at coming out in October as well...Before you know it, it will be Christmas again! Phew!

Hope everyone is keeping well, and we look forward to hearing from you when you get a chance to drop us a line: bethanyjanette@hotmail.com

Invermere weekend

Invermere is about a 3 hour drive from Calgary, and we have spent our last 2 "Family Day" weekends (in February) there, skiing at Panorama and skating on Lake Windermere. This time, the summer weather cooperated for a gorgeous weekend of enjoying the lake: swimming and sunning, and for Dave to get a few practice rides in before his big race. (Speaking of which, check out http://www.transrockies.com/ to see details of Dave's race: coming up on Aug 10-16th). This weekend we were also able to cheer on a few friends competing in the Invermere Triathlon: congrats to Jen, Tom, Sean, Lauren, Colleen and Shandra for a great race!

I took my role as "cheerleader" quite seriously...

KT's Stampede Stagette

Karen Thomas and a great group of girls were in town for the Stampede this past weekend. Andrea of course brought Charlie too, for his first taste of Calgary in the summer. We had a great visit with everyone, and are so looking forward to Karen and Blair's wedding in November!
