Canada Day in Lake Koocanusa...

We were lucky enough to be invited to celebrate Canada Day with new friends Katherine and Justin at their property near Lake Koocanusa. We are told that "Koocanusa" represents that this man-made lake is in an area of BC called "the Kootenays", and shares the border with both CANada and the USA: KOO-CAN-USA...pretty neat fact (thanks Shandra!). As you can see from the photos, it is an absolutely breathtaking spot--amazing views in all directions (and the temperature of the water is a bit breathtaking too!). We were spoiled with amazing weather--high 20's/low 30's all 3 days, and lots of great food and good company...A bit different from celebrating in the nation's capital as we have so often in the past...So beautiful though!
